• Question: If you were in space without a space suit, would you die as soon as soon as you breathe out or die from the temperature?

Probably (obviously nobody has done this experiment!) the pressure and hypoxia will kill you before temperature because even in extreme cold temperatures the body can survive for a while as there is a bit of a delay in actual body temperature reductions

Yes I agree with Chris. It’s the lack of oxygen and change in pressure that will probably kill you first…

Not sure I’d want to be in space without a space suit!

I agree with the others. In theory, you might loose consciousness in 10-15 seconds because of lack of oxygen; the low pressure would make the body and gases expand – damaging the lungs – but you might not freeze immediately although you would loose heat really quickly.

Not sure I’d like to try testing the theory, though 🙂 good question!
