I study the effect of a mother’s stress on her child, so I hope that’s what you mean by your question. If not, please feel free to ask it again!

If a mother is particularly stressed, it can affect how much attention or time she spends with her child. This can then affect the bond formed between a mother and her child, and the way the child perceives relationships. If the mother spends less time with her child too, it can also affect things like how quickly they learn. However, it is important to say that the mother’s stress is only one aspect, there are lots of other parts of a child’s life which can have positive effects on them. For example, other family members, the effort they put in at school, the facilities or toys they have access to. It is very complicated! We are just trying to understand more about it so that we can help to ensure that children get the best start.
