It’s quite rare for one single scientist to find cures for a disease – would be amazing to do it thigh.
Some of the bench research I did helped to better understand the renin angiotensin system – which is a target for lots of drugs that bring blood pressure down in people who have a disease called hypertension.
It’s not quite a cure, through.

In my lab we are investigating whether inflammation is indeed causal for depression. At the moment what exactly causes people to have mental health problems is unknown. If we find it, that is one step closer to finding a cure or at least ways to prevent it.
